Course Outline: The presentation covers the requirements of NFPA 80, 92, and 105 regarding the periodic inspections of fire dampers/smoke dampers as well as the testing of smoke control systems. Additionally, the findings of a recently completed study that determines the reliability of HVAC fire life safety dampers and smoke control systems. The study was led by Dr. James Milke at the University of MD, School of Fire Protection Engineering.
Objectives:
Local 66 and Western Washington JATC is proud to offer a Fire/Smoke Damper and Smoke Control education class offered to Fire Marshals, Building Inspectors and Firefighters.
Certificate and ICC CEU credit will be issued for 0.3 CEU's through WSAFM registration only.
Special Instructions:
There will be classroom time to start and then the remainder out in the shop. Dress should be appropriate duty uniform and duty boots.
